Fire Sealing
Fire Sealing systems are designed to restrict the passage of fire, smoke and noise through perimeter gaps, apertures and glazing pockets, which if not protected can compromise the classification of the door, ultimately leading to failure.
Fire doors are a crucial component in the passive fire protection of a building, and all fire doors must be fitted with the appropriate seals. You fit fire doors seals between the door frame and the door on all four sides. In the event of a fire, the extreme heat causes the intumescent strip to expand and seal the gap between the door leaf and the frame. This contains the fire and allows enough time for people to evacuate the building. By preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the building, fire sealing greatly the risk to life and property.
Pyroplex fire and smoke seals include additional features that also prevent the passage of smoke. UK Government statistics show that smoke inhalation is responsible for more fatalities than fires.
